Let me set the scene for you really quick. It was the 80’s, and I was in high school at the time. Y’all, I am an 80’s girl through and through! Everything and anything 80’s related, I love it! Anyways, 2-3 times a week I would wake up almost 2 hours early before school just so I could get ready. I had the big 80’s hair, Madonna bracelets, fishnet tights, pounds of eyeliner, ripped mini skirt, and 568 ounces of aerosol hairspray in my hair.
When I would walk downstairs, my dad would see me and always say, “Hannah, you ain’t going out like that!” I could fight him and I could pout and I could stomp my combat boots with my fishnet hose in my leather mini skirt all I wanted but when my daddy said something, he meant it.
I knew as soon as that phrase came out of his mouth, “You ain’t going like that,” It meant to go back to my room, switch some stuff up, take off some of the makeup, and put on something a little longer, because he meant what he said. There was no changing his mind.
That didn’t mean I didn’t get upset at my dad for making me go upstairs and change. I would be so upset because that was work. It took work to look like that and now I had to go change everything.
But here’s what I’m telling you, you have got a dream in your heart, you have got a goal and you have got an anointing that God has breathed into you.
You wouldn’t be listening to me right now if you didn’t believe that God has greatness for you. He has greatness in store for you.
God loves to bring us joy and he loves it when we’re promoted and we’re free and we live a life of joy and abundance. That brings him joy. But to get there you can’t go like you are now or else you would already be there.
What you’ll learn:
• What is your belief system telling you about your life?
• Moms and Ogres?!? What do we have in common?
• If the promises of God fell into your lap, it would probably crush you.
• The journey never stops.
• You cannot talk God out of his covenant.
• Changes need to be made so you are equipped to go to the next level.
• What is actually the hardest work??
“If racing against mere men makes you tired, how will you race against horses? If you stumble and fall on an open ground, what will you do in the thickets near the Jordan?
Jesus had to prepare for his promise. Jesus had a huge promise over his life and he had to prepare for it. He had to go and be tested and thank God he passed every test because he was committed to the journey. He was committed to passing the test and he knew that it was just a matter of time.
Here is your challenge:
Think about this scenario. If you let a rude comment from your spouse destroy your peace, what are you going to do when the heat is really turned up, when you have a crisis on your hands and you two have to hold up together? What are you going to do? If you let one rude comment destroy your peace, what are you going to do when there’s a crisis that you two have to face together.
The battle is right in front of you. It’s always the small things that lead to the bigger things that lead to the biggest things and then we’re walking into the castle.
You will keep fighting the same battles until you finally learn the strategies and you finally build the strength to overcome them and move on to the next level. Remember, you can’t get to the castle if you’re scared to swim through the moat.
What’s going to change? What is the battle that is right in front of you? What is the training ground that is right in front of you? That is where the real battle is. Even though you’re scared, you keep swimming. Even when it looks impossible, you keep speaking your affirmations. You’re going to step into your castle, but things have got to change now so you can get where you’re going. because girl, you ain’t going like that.
Join MMU, and let’s begin the journey of overcoming your battles together because girl, you ain’t going like that. Be blessed like crazy 🙂
