Yeah, Kyler, You're so tough!
Mar 17 2010
Kyler is my big, burly boy. At thirteen, his voice is already getting lower, his shoulders are broad, and when the light hits his face just right....hmm, is that peach fuzz?
He likes to pretend he's so tough. Sorry, big guy, no one's buying it.
He is the proverbial big brother. He's always looking out for his little brothers. Once, all three boys left to go down the street playing football with some neighborhood friends. In about twenty minutes, I saw Kyler coming down the driveway with his youngest brother, Korben.
"Why are you back so early?" I asked them.
Kyler said, "They wouldn't throw the ball to Korben. I told them if they didn't include him in the game, then I was going to leave. So I'm just going to toss the ball with Korben in the yard some so he learns how to play a little better." He noticed that Korben was listening to him and added, "He's already a great player, so I don't know why they weren't throwing the ball to him."
That boy can make a mama proud!
A few weeks ago, I was working pretty late, long after everyone went to bed. When I came upstairs, I noticed his light was still on. I walked into the room and he was fast asleep with a book in his hands. He had evidently fallen asleep while he was reading. I went in the room to turn out the light and when I reached for the book I noticed that he was reading the Bible and had been underlining favorite verses.
Again, that boy sure can make a mama proud!

My heart just swells when I think of him and how sweet, gentle, and kind he is. I'm sure he learned it from me. And the girl that wins his heart better deserve him. If not, I'll beat the ever-livin' snot out of her!!!
