This Week's Giveaway: Look Good, Feel Great!

Jan 06 2012

Full

There are a lot of mamas out there who have made New Year's Resolutions to get healthier. In honor of all those mamas, I'm giving away a copy of Joyce Meyer's book, "Look Good, Feel Great." It's an oldie, but a goodie.

So, have you made some New Year's resolutions to get healthier? I've decided that at least one day each week, I'm going to go all raw (maybe Raw Wednesdays?). I've also decided to juice more and make vegetables comprise at least half of our family's meals. Now I want to know your resolutions. How are you going to get healthier in 2012? Leave a comment and one mama will get a free copy!!

I am adding flax to what I can...my husband found out he has HIGH cholesterol and can't handle fish oil tablets, so we are adding omega-3 by flax!
Then, we are ALL trying to get moving more! I injured my knee at the beginning of November (one of those oh-so-graceful falls down the driveway! lol), so being laid up during the holiday season was especially not great for the figure! :)

I have started trying to add lots more vegetables, not only to our meals, but I also add them into dishes for a little more "bulk" when I can. I will get back to walking every day!

I'm juicing every morning and since I've been a vegetarian for two years I'm incorporating a vegan or raw meal once or twice a week into meal plans! I'm also upping exercise!

I would like to lose weight so I'm using the My Fitness Pal app on my phone to keep track of what I eat & how much water I drink. Logging my food makes me think twice about having a nibble of this or a taste of that! :)

I hate to say it.....but I'm going to be a little stingy with others this year, and keep me to myself! I want to put a higher value on my time and put me first....when it's important. Like physical therapy, my sleep, my spirituality, and my nutrition. I hope that I become a positive change for myself and my loved ones.

I didn't make an official resolution this year, but I am going to try to get sleep when I am tired, and watch what we eat. I have been reading a lot about real food and watch the ingredients on everything I buy. I would like to experiment with more "whole food" recipes this year and incorporate more organics into our diets.

Love the idea of an all raw day! My "food goal" for 2012 is to make sure and eat local, seasonal veggies all year long. Easy in the summer, but a bit more challenging in the winter and early spring months!

I am starting by getting 8-9 hours of sleep a night, instead of the couple here, some over there, that I have been doing the last 2 years. I am also doing some WII Fit (30 -60 min) daily. Already lost 1 inch, and 1 pound (like the inches better, my clothes feel better sooner). Also, trying to keep fresh fruits and veggies in my house for eating, but my kids have eaten them all a lot faster than expected. So, I am not sure how well that last one is going to work. JC

My 2012 goal is to cut back on sugar (no more honey in my teas- I drink 3-5 cups a day, so that adds up to a lot of sugar!), eat less processed foods, and to exercise regularly.
