Karis and His Flair for the Dramatic

There always has to be one in the crowd. And in this crowd, it's definitely Karis.

Here he is when he was a baby and it snowed.

Here he is a year later, playing outside.

Here he is when we were taking a family picture with all the cousins. I'll let you guess which one he is.

Here he is on his 5th birthday when I tried to take the frosting away.

Here he is when he was 7, doing standardized testing for the first time.

Here he is at the pumpkin patch waiting to take a hayride.

Here he is in the car with his sister.

And then it was time for school pictures.

I didn't get one good shot. But I did get these beauties.

Like I said, there's one in every crowd. He definitely has a flair for the dramatic. I had to sew up the seams in all of his blue jeans so he could have "skinny jeans." He is a true artist, never without a sketch book. His favorite thing to draw is skeletons. He asked for a Jack Skellington doll last Christmas so he could do stop-motion films (I'll have to load up some of those one day. They're amazing!). He also likes drawing owls and made-up creatures. The other day I thought I would torment him by asking him to draw pictures of rainbows and unicorns.

He looked at me in total disgust and said, "You're not serious, are you?"

Karis is a star in his own production, and I'm thinking it's a dark mystery and he's hired Tim Burton to direct it.

I'll be the first to buy tickets!
