The kids were complaining about how hot it was. Sometimes I wonder what they would think if they could have been raised like I was, in a house with an attic fan and one window unit air conditioner--in the living room. In the summer months, I would sleep backwards in my bed so my head was next to the window and I could feel the attic fan pulling in the warm night air.

We're talking South Carolina, here. Hot, muggy summers! The way I see it, these kids are spoiled rotten!!

Anyway, they were complaining and said that it was so hot, they could fry an egg on the pavement.

So, they did.

Karis and Korben packed an egg and a spatula when we went to the pool and proceeded to fry the egg in the hot summer sun.

It worked!

Now, I'm just concerned about how the homeowner's committee is going to handle this situation. I'm not sure they have any bylaws written up about frying eggs on the pavement.

We'll see.
