A bit demanding, are we?

Since it's summer here in Virginia, we have been enjoying watermelon on a regular basis. But, even if we had watermelon everyday, that wouldn't be enough for Karis. He's in love with the stuff!

We usually bring a watermelon to the pool and slice it up there (it's a LOT less messy!). But a couple of days ago, I forgot to bring the watermelon to the pool so I promised Karis we could slice it up when we got home.

When we got home, I got distracted by something and forgot about the watermelon. Karis asked me, "Mom, when are you going to cut up the watermelon?" I told him I would...in a few minutes. Unfortunately, I forgot about it AGAIN and went to go take a shower.

Unbeknownst to me, while I was in the shower, Karis, who was determined not to wait any longer, got the watermelon, put it on a cutting board on the counter, set the knife beside it, and with a permanent marker, wrote a message to me on the watermelon.

When I got out of the shower I saw the watermelon on the counter with the message, "Cut me woman!" written on it. Needless to say, the whole family enjoyed watermelon right away!

You got to give him credit. The guy is persistent.
