Bonnie Byte: Enjoy the Feast

Aug 30 2010

Full

We’ve been out and about a lot lately so I’ve had the opportunity to see many people. Now, I know that the weather has been unpleasantly warm and that does not always bring out the best in folks. But what I’ve noticed is that many people are complaining. Complaining a lot!

I really just don’t understand. Many folks are looking for what they do not have rather than what is right there in front of them. Or, (and this really grates my fur) they are bored. Really…bored? You see, I hold a viewpoint very similar to the one held by a very special lady called Mame. She is known for saying, “Life is a banquet, and most poor suckers are starving to death!” I couldn’t agree more! You know how I love a metaphor. Mame is a straight shooter and calls them as she sees them.

Now a banquet is comprised to two main items. Food - lots of it and a huge variety. But there are also people. A bunch of people. (You never heard of an intimate banquet for two, right?) This is a huge, WONDERFUL world with so many kinds of people and places, such a variety of things to do, see or experience. So many things to LEARN! How can one be bored? The problem is really an internal one. Boredom reflects far more on the one bored than it does with their environment.

I suggest to all my readers this week, that they remove themselves from whatever starvation diet they have inadvertently put themselves on and belly up to the banquet table of life. Try something different; even if you don’t like it, you will have grown. Walk a different path…LITERALLY! Perhaps you’ll see other folks, a different creature, hear a bird with a different song. Read a different kind of book or reinvent your dinner menus, make them healthier, more colorful! Buy an unexpected gift - no occasion needed - wrap it and deliver it! Enjoy the joy it creates!

So, dear ones, grab a plate, be fearless, and get in line to begin sampling some of the fine fare before you!

Oh but a word of warning - stay away from the cheese….I call dibs on the cheese! Snort!

Until next week,
Bonnie-girl (who is currently charming the husk right off of the corn!)
